BodyLean is made up of a Kiwi (Andrew) and a Pom (Ben) who both love to lift heavy objects and as a distant second do some hard conditioning work. Andrew is your typical skinny guy that has to eat big in order to put on any muscle whereas Ben as naturally a bit softer around the edges, and can naturally put on muscle more easily but has to work much harder than Andrew to strip off body fat.

I will also go through a 6-8 week phase once or twice per year where I do a photo shoot prep phase and take my body fat percentage down to really low figures (approx. 5%)
For my nutrition, my protein and fats stay pretty similar all year round and I manipulate carbs depending on goals. When I am in a muscle-building phase that is when I take carbs right up high, shooting for a minimum of 350g per day[/toggle][toggle title=”Coaching” open=”no”]I have 2 main types of clients that I currently work with. 25-35 year olds looking to get in the best shape possible and increase fitness levels. These guys and girls are either striving to get in the best shape of their lives or get back to what they used to be. I predominantly work with this group via my online coaching.

One of my major passions is skiing. I have skied through NZ, Japan and Canada and there is no better feeling in my view than skiing fresh powder. The freedom you get at those moments is unparalleled. I am currently training for size and strength but tend to alternate between that and shredding fat. I wouldn’t call it a ‘bulk’ because I generally stay as lean as I can all year, but right now I am focusing on increasing food intake slightly and increasing my work volume on weaker body parts. Current goals for strength are double body weight bench press and a 200kg deadlift at 70kg.[/toggle][toggle title=”Coaching” open=”no”]I work with a wide range of different demographics but their goals are exclusively body composition, mostly wanting to drop body fat and build lean muscle. Over the last four years I have worked with clients from all walks of life, with busy jobs, lives and families. We both work very long hours (she is a nurse) so our time off is very precious and often rare.
